Sonny's Biography PDF Print E-mail

Sonny NealePrior to setting up Original Intent in March this year, Sonny has spent the last few years working with market-oriented environmental organisations: as the Advocacy Officer of the Green Building Council of Australia (GBCA) where he played a key role in the establishment of the organisations second office in Melbourne; and helping organise the successful launch of the Forest Stewardship Council’s (FSC) Australian Initiative.

He has a broad and varied professional background that ranges from teaching English Language, culture and business skills to the executive team one of the Czech Republic’s largest construction firm, PSJ Jihlava; to heading up a department of a global educational organisation, Landmark Education; to managing the forestry fund raising campaigns for the Australian Conservation Foundation (ACF). Based in Paris, he was also the founder and director of one of Europe’s first Aboriginal Art Companies, Malangarri Art Exchange in the early 1990’s.

Having travelled extensively, living, studying and working in Europe, the America’s, and in Australia, Sonny has an excellent grasp of how to manage, appreciate and communicate with people. He has been leading and facilitating programs for adults since first being trained as a program leader at Landmark Education, and he brings his knowledge and experience of people, companies, politics, the market and strategic futures to the work he does at Original Intent.

Sonny studied Law and Political Science at McGill University in Montreal (Canada’s Ivy League equivalent university), and at the Australian National University.

He received first class honors in Politics and Ethics from the University of Melbourne, and is currently completing a Masters degree in Strategic Foresight at Swinburne University.
