Business and Strategic Planning

I engaged Original Intent to help Nike maintain a leadership role in sustainability issues and to explore the business challenges sustainability pose in this region. We worked with Nike Global to create a workshop for the management team of the Pacific region that moved the conversation about sustainability into a whole new realm.

They ran a tight ship on the day and the group went from 12 executives with different opinions and concerns to a single team that would work together on this issue.  The day provided a road map for our sustainability goals and has been the foundation of our efforts since."

Facilitating a series of meetings for us, Original Intent's director created a space for people from different backgrounds and different departments to work together beautifully. The company has a wealth of experience in organisational change and successfully guided us to create mutually beneficial outcomes.

I was part of a facilitation session Sonny led. He is an excellent facilitator. He has a clear grasp of what brings groups of people together and how to cause teams and partnership. I was sufficiently impressed that I approached him and we have since commenced another project together.

Effectively Communicating your Vision and Leadership

What I got from working with Sonny was the confidence and the clarity to communicate my ideas to others both within and outside of my professional circle.

Instead of being one voice amongst many, I was able to direct the agenda of many discussions!

I was also able to effectively communicate ideas that were contrary to the beliefs of the people they were directed at.

As an academic, I am used to workshopping ideas, but this was a totally different context for which I needed to think differently.

Prior to the 2020 Summit, it was hard to know how to really prepare for such an ideas fest.  Sonny Neale posed questions that prompted me to both articulate my grand visions for Australia, and to explain how these might be achieved through more practical steps.

Sonny had a firm grasp and uncanny foresight of the dynamics of such a meeting of 1000 people. I was so well prepared compared to many there on the day that it occurred to me how much more efficient the summit would have gone if everyone had had the benefit of a futures strategist of his calibre.

His skills and knowledge were invaluable to me in clarifying my thinking, setting directions and coming up with the ‘Big Ideas' required at the summit.

Though we were chosen as the best and brightest in our respective fields it became apparent that a strong awareness of different levels of thinking, the language and mode of delivery and a grasp of futurist concepts were critical to our ability to organise our own thoughts, and perhaps more importantly, to communicate these in short grabs of time.

Team Building and getting your Staff onboard

The City of Melbourne's Sustainability team commissioned Sonny Neale to run a two half day program for us.

The program was extremely successful.

It enabled us to experience team work, to set our direction, and to outline our next work plan. Some of this success was due to Sonny guiding us through the challenges of working as a group. Some was due to the structure of the program as we learnt how to work together before we tried to get to where we needed to get to. The rest of was due to the Sonny's ability to fire our imaginations and to get everyone to commit to and share a vision.

It was an amazing, satisfying and productive program.
